Accounting Manager – Public Company

  Accounting Manager, Nashville, TN
  • Oversee Accounting and related activities and accounting departmental staff of 3-5
  • Interface with external auditors.
  • Build systems and processes that will streamline financial reporting
  • Plan, organize and direct the activities of General Accounting and Reporting
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly forecasting
  • Oversee and direct all monthly and year-end closings including the year-end audit.
  • Implement internal controls and processes to insure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Ensure that all established policies, rules, regulations and agreements are followed.
  • Ensure that all department processes and procedures are appropriately documented and executed.
  • Participate in the development of departmental objectives and develop/implement short term and long range plans and projects.
  • Provide various levels of management with accurate and timely information necessary to make strategic and operating decisions.
  • Evaluate existing and new accounting rules and recommend appropriate actions and/or procedures.
  • Assess and propose systems enhancements and drive process improvement. Actively participate in and/or drive system projects where needed.
Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  CPA required.
  • Must have a high sense of urgency and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience.
  • Must have a strong understanding of SEC / financial reporting and have public accounting experience.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of GAAP. Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley is highly desirable.
