Payroll Manager – Brentwood, TN

The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing and process our monthly and bi-weekly payroll utilizing ADP. Ensuring compliance with all federal, State and IRS payroll processing rules and regulation is paramount. This position requires a demonstrated commitment to attention to detail, quality, and accuracy. A successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment and have strong organizational skills. Ideal Candidates must have experience with:
  • Supervision in a payroll environment
  • Garnishment set up
  • System set up and maintenance
  • Preparing and filing Quarterly Returns
  • Balance sheet account reconciliation
  • Payroll Software System conversion/implementation experience helpful
  • A degree in accounting and CPP preferred
  • At least five years of relevant payroll and accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel knowledge including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and Formulas
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  1. Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  2. Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
  3. Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
  4. Supervises human resources/payroll assistant.
  5. Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  6. Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related and to ensure effective accounting support.
  7. Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
