Senior Accountant   The senior accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Manages and implements various accounting procedures in compliance with healthcare policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations. Primary Responsibilities
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
  • Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures and under appropriate laws and regulations
  • Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met
  • Prepares financial management reports
  • Develops and maintains financial data bases
  • Monitors the financial system- investigating any problems that may arise and finding solutions
  • Assists Accounting Department staff with balancing issues
  • Develops budget projections and analyzes trends
  • Prepares financial audits and coordinates audit process
  • Ensures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Attributes/ Qualifications The senior accountant must demonstrate an ability to work with a high volume of information in a timely manner while maintaining high confidentiality in working with patient or other company records.  Must have strong organizational/ communication/ analytical/ problem-solving skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.   Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting with emphasis on financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, auditing, and taxation, preferably in healthcare
